Guitar Pedals: Overdrive and Distortion Pedal Demonstration/Shootout
Published on 18 January 2016
http://bluesguitarunleashed.com - I think one of the most important pieces of gear in any guitar player's arsenal is overdrive or distortion pedals.
In this video I'll run through several so you can hear the differences and hopefully choose the one that you like the best for your sound.
I used my Fender American Tele with LIndy Fralin Blues pickups in it through a Digidesign Eleven Rack processor setup like a Fender Super Reverb. I realize some gearheads will be put off by the fact that it's not a tube amp... but I have many great tube amps that don't sound as good as the 11R, especially for recording. It's absolutely a fair comparison.
Pedals tested are my Keeley modded Tube Screamer TS9, stock Boss Super Overdrive (SD1,) Fulldrive Fulltone II Mosffet, MI Audio Blues Boy, Fulltone OCD, ZVexx Box of Rock, and a Rat pedal modified by Modest Mike pedals.
I hope you enjoy the demo and that it's helpful to you.
