One Way to Begin an E Blues Tune | Tuesday Blues #011
Published on 05 February 2016
Here's a great way to kick off a blues song in the E and it's taken directly from the intro to BGI's most popular lesson:
The Train Whistle Micro Lick
Most blues songs start out with a few bars that setup the main progression nicely. Songs need a little intro like this, because (usually) jumping right into the main rhythm/riff/melody would just be too much of a shock for the listener. Plus its a great time to get creative!
TUESDAY BLUES LESSON 12
In this lesson, we'll walk note-by-note through the popular intro used in the Train Whistle lesson. Once you get this down, link the two lessons together and have fun!
But make sure that you work on adding this intro, or something similar, to other songs. This intro can be used as a jumping off point for a lot of E Blues based tunes.
